Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Bias Binder Discord application, biasbinder.app and the account connection used to provide membership benefits. References to “we” and “us” mean the operator of Bias Binder, responsible for the processing described here. Privacy enquiries and requests should be sent to [email protected].

We use account and game data to provide the features you request, maintain your collection, carry out trades and deliver purchased benefits. Where the GDPR applies, this processing is necessary to perform our agreement with you. Providing a Discord identifier is necessary to maintain a Discord binder; Patreon information is required only if you connect a Patreon membership.

We process security logs, reward records and account links for our legitimate interests in securing the service, preventing duplicate claims and resolving disputes. We process information required for accounting, lawful requests or other legal duties on the basis of those duties. Optional sharing and matching operate at your request. Where we separately ask for consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising profiles or use Discord interaction data to train AI models.

3. Patreon connection and payments

Choosing Link Patreon creates a private, single-use link associated with the Discord account making the request. Approving the connection on Patreon links the approved Patreon account to that Discord account. We retain the account mapping and verification records so that a membership is credited to the correct binder and cannot be claimed by several accounts. Patreon may also provide an existing Discord connection associated with a member of this creator’s campaign.

The temporary access tokens obtained during your Patreon sign-in are used for verification and are not saved to your player record. The bot does not request your Patreon email address, postal address, payment card number or membership history with unrelated creators. Information visible to the creator through Patreon’s own membership and payment tools is governed by Patreon’s disclosures and may be used to resolve billing enquiries. Bias Binder does not receive your full payment card details.

Disconnecting Patreon stops use of that explicit connection for membership access; it does not erase the reserved account mapping or cancel billing. Manage recurring payments in the platform where you subscribed.

4. Information visible to other collectors

Sharing a cover, page or card makes the selected content and your Discord identity visible to its audience. A shared link can be opened by anyone who receives it. Shares are saved copies: later edits to your binder do not update earlier shares. Stopping sharing disables further browsing through that copy but does not remove images, messages or downloads already held by Discord or other people. Revoked share records remain in the application until your binder is deleted.

Trade matching is optional and disabled until you join it. While enabled, other participating collectors may see your Discord identity and relevant spare cards, wishlist entries or missing cards from your selected collection. Matching does not expose your full inventory or balance. You can leave matching at any time. Displaying a supporter badge makes that status visible on the content you share.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use Discord to operate the bot and deliver messages; Patreon to manage Patreon memberships and verify access; Hetzner to host the application and its database; and Cloudflare to route and protect website traffic and forward support email. Support correspondence also passes through the email services used by you and by the operator. These services receive the information needed for their respective functions. Access to stored application data is limited to authorised operation and support.

Discord and Patreon also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies. Some providers operate internationally, including in the United States. Their notices describe their processing locations and transfer safeguards. Relevant notices: Discord, Patreon, Hetzner and Cloudflare. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your data.

We may disclose records where required by law or where necessary and lawful to investigate fraud, protect users or establish or defend a legal claim.

6. Cookies

The public homepage and legal pages do not set an application session cookie. Patreon linking uses the essential __Host-bb_patreon_link cookie to verify the browser completing the connection and display its result. It expires after at most 20 minutes and is replaced or cleared during the connection process. No advertising or audience analytics scripts are installed by Bias Binder. Infrastructure providers may use security cookies to protect requests.

7. Retention and deletion

Game profiles are retained until you delete them; inactivity alone does not delete a collection. In Discord, open /binder home, select Menu, then Delete my data and confirm Delete binder. This removes the live profile, inventory, balances, preferences, saved pages, shares, trades and associated game history. Deletion is irreversible through the game interface.

The in-bot command is a binder deletion, not complete erasure of every record. It retains reward and cooldown records, membership account mappings, the saved Patreon display name and paid benefit records to prevent repeated claims and resolve membership disputes. Disconnecting a membership does not delete those records. Existing backups and infrastructure logs are separate from the live profile and are not removed by that command.

Expired account-link challenges are removed automatically. Retained membership and reward records and database backups do not currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule. Their continued retention must be justified by an active membership, prevention of repeat claims, an unresolved dispute or a legal obligation. For an erasure request, contact us so that remaining records and backup copies can be reviewed individually. We will explain any records that must be retained and the reason. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the enquiry and related claims.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or a portable copy of your data. Send requests to [email protected], identifying the Discord account concerned. We may require proportionate verification of account ownership; do not send passwords or access tokens. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month, with any permitted extension explained. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

Deleting game data or disconnecting an account does not cancel a paid subscription. Requests concerning information held independently by Discord or Patreon must also be made to the relevant platform.

9. Age requirements and policy changes

The service is intended for people who meet Discord’s minimum age requirements, including any higher minimum applicable in their country. Contact us if you believe a child below that age has supplied personal data.

We will update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes to how we use personal data will be brought to users’ attention through the bot or another appropriate service notice. Any newly required consent will be requested separately.
